It seems that hardly a day goes by without a new acronym being introduced – especially in relation to new technology. Augmented Reality, or AR as it is commonly called, is a new method which uses a combination of 3-D animation and a camera or smart device to enable interaction with a virtual product.
Reflecting the innovation in its products, Grundfos have embraced this technology to help explain the installation and features of their new UPS2 pump head. Designed to meet the strict energy requirements of not just EuP 2013 legislation, but exceeding those due in 2015, this compact head offers a fast and energy efficient solution to upgrading or replacing pumps in restricted spaces e.g. in boilers or pre-plumbed cylinders. This compact, newly engineered, energy efficient pump offers a number of benefits:
- fully compliant with the energy demands of the 2013 and 2015 EuP legislation
- one single model replaces 4m, 5m and 6m versions of the UPS 15-50 and 15-60 market leading heating circulators
- the cable gland is the same as the UPS, minimising wiring time
- dimensions are almost identical to the UPS.
In instances where the pump base is in good condition, only the pump head needs to be replaced and the new UPS2 pump head is compatible with all ALPHA, ALPHA Pro, ALPHA+ and UPS 15-50, 15-60 4m, 5m and 6m variants.
The Grundfos UPS2 AR App is optimised to be used with iPhone 4+ and iPad2+, this technology is bound to become an increasingly popular way to find product information, especially as it does not require internet access to run.
Already with a reputation for being at the leading edge of pump product innovation – Grundfos have now proved that they are taking a lead in delivering their technology in imaginative ways that will help customers to see the product benefits for themselves.
